Raymond "Bill" Morton, jr. age 85 of Terra Alta, WV formerly of Potomac, MD passed peacefully April 3, 2013 R Montgomery Hospice House. He was born on April 27, 1927 in (Camden-on-Gauley) West Virginia to Regina and Raymond Morton, SR. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Mabel M Morton ; children, Sue A. Windsor and her husband Patrick of Silver Spring, MD., William B. Morton of Poolesville, MD., and Mary Jane Selph and her husband Duncan of Leonardtown, MD; loving grandfather of Nicole, Natalie and Craig Morton; and Ryan, Caitlin and Chad Selph. He is also survived by his loving brother Joe H. Morton of Rockville, MD and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Richard A. Morton.
Bill was a retired Cartographer who worked for the Army Map Service. He served in the U.S.Navy from 1945-46. He graduated from Greenbrier Military School , Lewisburg, WV in 1947 and graduated from West Virginia University , School of Geology in 1951

Bill and his wife Mabel have enjoyed many happy years of retirement on the community of Alpine Lake Resort , West Virginia. where a celebration of Bill's life will be held later this year.

Interment will be private.

Raymon William "Bill" Morton Jr., passed away on April 3, 2013. Services will be held later in Tera Alta, WV.

Bill underwent heart surgery at John Hoipkins on February 3 of this year wher he received two (2) valve repaired and two (2) artery obstructions cleared.

Bill was a 1947 graduate of Greenbrier. He was among the most loyal of graduates and was in attendeance at most GMS reunion held in October of each year. From the small WV community of Camden-on Gauley, Bill and his brother Dick and Joe, were heavily involved in athletics and school life.

For the historians, The Morton brothers live in the basement of Major Bob and Carolyn Harris while at Greenbrier as rooms were in short supply due to the returning veterans of WWII.

Bill and Mable have live in Tera Alta, WV for the past several. His brother Dick passed several years ago and brothe Joe continues to live in Maryland.
