Gordon C. Willis, Jr. (Bo), age 65 of Penhook died suddenly on Friday, May 15, 2015. He leaves his wife Cynthia Simms Willis and two children Peige Willis Rose (Harry) and Gordon C. Willis III (Sabrene`). He also leaves two stepsons, Patrick Gardner, Anthony Gardner (Tracey) and eight precious grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon C. Willis, Sr. and wife Jean, Julia Garrett and step-father, Olin Garrett.

Born in Roanoke, Virginia on September 1, 1949, Bo worked alongside his father and son at their family owned business, Rockydale Quarries and Old Heritage Corp. in Roanoke and retired after 37 years where he was President and CEO of the Companys.

In the years that followed, Bo enjoyed many passions…. his love for the outdoors and nature, hunting, farming, his canine companion, Carmen and the love of his life and best friend, Cynthia. Whenever you saw one you saw both, they truly loved every minute they shared together.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Flora Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Friends and family will gather afterwards at Water’s Edge Country Club. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
