Kenneth Dotson, age 77, passed away at University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, Virginia on Sunday, October 6, 2013. The cause of death was heart failure. Born September 18, 1936, in Lewisburg, West Virginia to Thomas and Rhoda Dotson, he attended Lewisburg High School, Greenbrier Military School and graduated from West Virginia University. Kenny bravely served his country as a helicopter pilot in the United States Air Force and served in the Air National Guard. He was the founder and owner of True Value Home Center for over 40 years. Kenny was an avid golfer and enjoyed square dancing, traveling, farming, and spending time with his friends and family. Kenny is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jacalyn Bennett Dotson; two sons, Brian and wife Renee of Morgantown, WV, and Bret and wife Krista of Stow, OH; six grandchildren, Sydney, Grace, Brittney, Kimberly, Cailin, and Kelly; one sister, Linda Vaughan of Lewisburg.; the mother of his sons, Helen Dotson of Lewisburg; four nieces, Kathy Dotson Camden, Angie Dotson Hill, Deanna Vaughan, Tracey Dotson Godby; and two nephews, Gary Dotson, Danny Vaughan. In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his three brothers, Thomas, Charlie, and Don Ray. Family and friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, until the 2 p.m. funeral service. Burial will follow at Rosewood Cemetery.
