John Summers (Jack) Depue
BRIDGEPORT — John Summers (Jack) Depue, 81, passed away at home on Monday, October 24, 2016.
Jack was born June 19, 1935, in Sewickley, PA, to the late Camden and Pauline Depue.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Kramer) Depue, whom he married December 26, 1959, and three children, June Wedd of Columbus, OH, Jackie (Bill) Jennings of Richmond, KY, and John Depue of Bridgeport.
Surviving grandchildren are Jason Nolan of Asheville, NC, Lauren (Rick) Puckett of Stanford, KY, Cody (Allison) Wedd of Columbus, OH, Lonnie Wedd of Erie, PA, Sarah (Brad) Nally of Lexington, KY, Robert Jennings and Nathan Jennings of Richmond, KY.

Jack is also survived by brother-in-laws, Fred (Rita) Kramer of Sugarland, TX, and Bud (Conchita) of Hagerstown, MD; nieces, Mary Kay (Jim) Flagg, Jenny (Serhat) Midyat and Judy (Al) Sefir, all of Houston, TX, Becky Hall of Martinsburg, WV, and Brenda Manspeaker of Hagerstown, MD; nephews, Robert (Kelli) Kramer and Mathew (Kelly) Kramer of Martinsburg, WV, and Charlie (Loretta) Joy of Rockport, WV; many grandnieces and nephews complete his family.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his twin sister, Joan (Jill) Scott.
Jack graduated from Greenbrier Military Academy in Lewisburg, WV and attended West Virginia University. He received an honorary Bachelor of Arts from Alderson-Broaddus College, University of Hard Knocks. Jack served our country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

During his professional career he built interstate roads and bridges, golf courses, and moved many West Virginia mountains to create flat land for development. Jack was an active Rotarian, Greenbrier Alumni Association and honorary Fork Union Alumni member.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jack’s memory to the Greenbrier Scholarship, c/o Fork Union Military Academy, PO Box 278, Fork Union, VA 23055, or to the charity of one’s choice.

Please join the family for a celebration of Jack’s life, food and fellowship Thursday, October 27, 2016, from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV.
