Nathan William Hurtt

Dr. Nathan William "Bill" Hurtt, formerly of Brighton Township, passed peacefully on September 11, 2011 with his son at his side in Pittsford, NY.

Bill was born March 21, 1929 in Jackson, MI to the late Robert S. and Edna Maple Boys Hurtt.

Preceding him in death was his wife of52 years, Susan L, a son Norman R.; a daughter, Ann Marie; a brother, Roberts S., and a sister Edna L.

Surviving is a son, Dr. William L. (Lynne); three grandsons Justin, Nathan, an Aaron; a sister, Christine Peterson, and a sis-in-law, Dorthy.

Bill had been a resident of Brighton Township for 52 years and resided in Port Charlotte , FL and most recently Pittsford, NY. He was a retired general dentist, having practiced in Beaver for 42 years and maintained a 50 yea membership in the Western Pennsylvania Dental Society. Dr. Hurtt was honored as a lifetime member of the American Dental Association . He was faithful member, Elder and Deacon for Park United Presbyterian Church in Beaver. Bill received his DDS fro the University of Pittsburgh after attending both Bucknell University and Greenbrier Military School. Dr. Hurtt was a World War II veteran having served in the Marine Corps. He was a 50 member of St. James Lodge #457 of the New Castle Consistory and a 50 year member of Syria Shrine Temple. Bill was an avid sportsman enjoying a lifetime of hunting and fishing. He was a member and director of the Sewickley Heights Gun Club and former member of Beaver Valley Country Club. Riverwood Country Club in Port Charlotte , FL., Kiwanis Club and Boy Scouts Canoe Trails.
