Duane Charles Parsons, age 70, of Rome, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.
He was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on December 1, 1942, the son of the late Decoe Parsons and the late Pauline Virginia Detamore. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Max D. Parsons.

Duane was a graduate of Greenbrier Military School, Class of 1959. A long time resident of the Washington, DC area, Mr. Parsons moved to Rome in 1995 with his family. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Gearin Parsons, one daughter; Kirsten McGee and her husband Dylan, three sons; Derek C. Parsons and his wife Kate; Damien C. Parsons, and Devin C. Parsons and his wife Audrey. His sister Jan Bishopp, five grandchildren, three nieces and three nephews also survive.
